How to recreate an autoresponder using automation

For those who've had an account for some time, you may be familiar with an older tool called autoresponders or triggers. You'll want to make note of the types of older autoresponders in your account, set them up fresh using automation and then cancel your previously created autoresponders.

Important notes:

  • Once you cancel an existing autoresponder, you can’t reference the details to see how you built it. Be sure to note the type of autoresponder it was -- like a welcome autoresponder based on a specific signup form -- before canceling it.
  • If your autoresponder was originally created using the classic editor, which is no longer accessible in your account, you're unable to create a new automated workflow using that same mailing, since it isn't accessible in the drag & drop editor.
  • As of 2015, all accounts have automation access. In the upcoming year, we'll begin converting all old autoresponders to automation workflows, doing it in batches with lots of communication with you and your team first. Please note that autoresponders created using the classic editor, which has been retired, will not be converted to automation workflows. You can recreate these on your own, or consult with our Support Team to discuss how we can manually convert them for a nominal fee.

How to cancel an autoresponder

  1. Go to your Response page.
  2. Scroll down to the Your mailings section, and click Active autoresponders.
  3. Click the downward-pointing arrow to the right of the autoresponder you want to cancel and select Cancel this autoresponder.
