InformationBodyThis article explains different ways to use HTML code in your email campaigns. ⒾEmma does not offer support for customer-created code, so it's crucial that any person using HTML code is formidably experienced. We do have a talented Design Team that can handle creating the custom HTML coding for you for an additional fee. HTML options There are three different ways that you can use HTML code when creating a campaign in your Emma account: From an HTML block in the drag and drop or legacy* editorFrom the formatting toolbar of a text block in the legacy* editorIn a Code-Your-Own (CYO) campaign HTML block Use the HTML block when you want to add some of your own HTML code to a mailing that you've created. For more information on how to use the HTML block, please refer to this article. ⒾAlways avoid adding Javascript or any other code besides HTML because they don't perform well in email and can cause serious deliverability problems. Legacy* text block The legacy* editor allows you to add and format text and images in your campaigns, but those who are HTML-savvy might also like to review the HTML or adjust some of the HTML code behind the block. To review the HTML code of one of your text blocks, open a legacy* campaign draft, locate a text block, and click inside it to bring up the formatting toolbar. Click on the </> button in the toolbar to view the text box's HTML code and make any necessary adjustments. Each text block has its own set of code, so if you notice some formatting issues in your text block, like a font size that's not quite right, you can review its HTML and make small adjustments. However, you should only use this option to make small code adjustments or do a spot check. Do not paste in your own HTML code here or write an extensive amount of your own code. For these types of changes, you're much better off adding an HTML content block, as described above. CYO campaigns The Code-Your-Own option allows you to code your entire email, from header to footer and everything in between; creating the email campaign from scratch using your own HTML code. Navigate to your Campaigns tab.Click on the Create new campaign button.Enter a name for the new campaign and click on the Continue button. On the next page, click on the Start from scratch button in the upper right corner. In the pop-up window that appears, select Custom HTML. For more information about creating CYO campaigns, please refer to this article. *In April 2022, Emma's legacy editor was replaced with a new drag and drop editor. Accounts that existed prior to this change still have access to the legacy editor through their previously saved templates and campaigns, however new, from-scratch campaigns can only be created in the new drag and drop editor. Accounts that were created after this change only have access to the new drag and drop editor.
