This article provides instructions for connecting to Kindful, a third-party integration not developed or supported by Emma.

These instructions are for those with a Kindful account, which allows you to insert donation links into your email campaigns and track the success of your mailings based on donations. For additional help, please visit the Kindful help site.

Adding the Kindful Integration

You will need your Emma account ID and API key pair in order to set up this integration. If you have not already generated an API key pair, follow the instructions in the linked article to do that now.

☑	Tip
	If you have a tiered account, then you will need the subaccount ID, not the parent account ID, in order to set up the integration.

 

1. From your Kindful account, navigate to the Apps section.
2. Click on App Directory.
3. Scroll through the list, find Emma, and click Learn more.
4. Click Connect and you'll be prompted to sign in to your Emma account.
5. From there, you will map your information between the applications.

Important Information About the Kindful Integration

The integration is a two-way sync between Emma and Kindful. It allows users to insert donation links into mailings, import their audience from Kindful to Emma, and create groups in Kindful that are then synced to Emma. Additionally, Emma will send information to Kindful so that users can track donation success, record response data, and view webview links in Kindful.

✎	Note
	The integration does not do a full push from Kindful upon connection. Instead, contacts are pushed over to Emma “as they are used”. This means that once a contact is added to a group in Kindful, then they will sync over to the audience in Emma.

 

Any groups or contacts present in Emma at the time of connection will sync to Kindful, as will any new groups created after the connection is made.
